Wasted: New York City's Giant Garbage Problems

This was about how people trow there garbage on the floor everyday and the way it hurts us and where it  goes.
They said " today, we collect garbage with trucks that use high-polluting diesel fuel and then dump that garbage onto the floor of waste transfer stations that are typically located in poor neighborhoods. we then scoop the garbage up off the floor and load it onto large trucks that also burn high-polluting diesel fuel and ship it to landfills and waste to energy incinerators located away from New York City." This is what they do with the garbage the point of this article was what goes on with the sistem with garbage.
What i thought about the article was that it was very helpful to help us understand that what happen with the garbage after we throw it on the floor and what they do to it. The question that i still have is why dont they have recicle bends people would bottles there and you have a better chance that people would  recicle and it would make everything easier for everyone!! i wonder if they would find a way to get rid of the garbage without polluting our earth..
